Interpreters are qualified and experienced linguists
having expertise in two or more languages. Some linguists have one mother
tongue and some have more than one mother tongue, which means a linguist can
easily speak, read and understand the mother tongue with fluency.
Another language, which is not a mother tongue, when a
linguist learns a second language, it becomes their secondary language, but it
requires the linguist to polish his learning skills, grammar, proverbs etc.
A translation
agency always requires such linguists to meet their client's
requirements. Different clients have different needs. For example, a
businessperson visiting Germany requires a German native speaker, who is able
to understand German language very well and reply accordingly.
Some people require linguists to attend big business
gathering, where two people are on the stage. There are rounds of questions and
answers. So, a linguist must be well aware of different kinds of situation in
this field.
When a translation agency hires a linguist, it keeps
everything in mind. It compares client's requirements with linguist's abilities
and experiences. Once the translation agency finds a good match, they start
fixing next things like project cost, project date and payment methods etc.
But merely learning two languages does not mean that any
person can become an interpreter overnight. Translation
is such a field, which requires a person to be the master of that language.
A translation agency prefers vast experience in comparison
to cost, because they do not like to save money, when their reputation is on
risk.
If you are looking for an interpretation job, and don’t know
where to send your CV, simply check your ability and make a video and upload
it. If the translation agency finds your interpretation services suitable, you
will be called for the next round.
